Bodiam Castle, East Sussex, 9 January, 1988
Bodiam Castle, built in the 14th century to defend against French invasion, has the distinction of being one of the most photographed, drawn and painted castles in the world, thanks mostly to it being what many consider to be the perfect depiction of a medieval English castle, with its complete crenellated towers. Few surviving castles are so complete. What makes this image stand out is the tiny lone duck invading the castle across the footbridge.
