Cara Na Mara, Magheraclogher Beach, Bunbeg, County Donegal, 14 August 2000

I had flown in to Ireland earlier in the day, then drove from Belfast to County Donegal, arriving when it was almost dark (though the sky stayed light until about 11pm in August). I didn’t know the country at all and spent a week crisscrossing the country, looking for images, spending some nights in the car so I would be ready for an early morning shoot. This was one of my favorite images from my time in Ireland. At low tide, I walked out as close as I could to the wreck and made several images with my 6x9cm medium format camera.
