Kilcash Castle, County Tipperary, Ireland, 17 August 2000
I stumbled on Kilcash Castle as I drove across Ireland in the summer of 2000. The ruins were overgrown and in a perilous state and not open to the public– very different to most of the ‘sanitised’ ruins I’ve photographed in Britain over the years. I used infrared film for this image, to add to the ‘ethereal-ness’ of the subject.
