View of Granada from the Alhambra, Spain, 17 July, 1988

The Alhambra palace and fortress was the capital of the Moors in medieval Spain, until the Reconquista reclaimed it for Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492. The palace is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, and the views from the palace overlooking the tiled roofs of Granada are equally stunning.
